My client's spouse died in the year. How should I process the amounts which the deceased had withdrawn from his RRSP's pursuant to the Home Buyer's Plan?

The balance that has not been repaid must be included in the income of the deceased taxpayer for the tax year of the death. However, the surviving spouse may decide to continue repayments to the Plan. That choice must be made jointly with the legal representative of the deceased and noted in a document attached to the tax return.
